Millers Point Kitchen

Among the luxury apartments sitting prominently in Sydney’s CBD, is this Dan Kitchens project. To fully enjoy inner-city living, the homeowners – a professional couple – decided to fully renovate their Millers Point apartment, complete with a dream contemporary kitchen.

The clients desired a unique new kitchen design to suit their particular tastes and personalities.

The homeowners went to great lengths to select unique and customised materials to ensure this contemporary space exuded a bespoke aesthetic. From imported French oak parquetry flooring, beautiful silver wallpapering and traditionally detailed doors and trims throughout.

But no doubt, the main attraction in this new kitchen design is the Delicatus White Granite stonework. The stone’s unique qualities– a white background with dark veins and patterning – sets the colour palette for the entire kitchen, showcasing a modern monochromic style with black, white and grey tones.

Parts of the Granite are semi-transparent, allowing light to penetrate through the stone, creating highlights from different angles. Unlike many white coloured natural stones, the Delicatus White Granite is durable and easy to clean.

The Dan Kitchens team recommended exclusive designer pieces with state-of-the-art technology. Premium appliances are featured in this new kitchen design, including a built-in Qasair rangehood, ultra-modern cooking appliances from V-Zug and a large integrated refrigerator from Sub-Zero.

The V-Zug cooktop gives home cooks the best of two worlds, with both induction hobs and gas hobs. The handleless ovens and the fully integrated dishwasher are V-Zug to match.

The Dan Kitchens design team ensured each fitting and handle matched in colour and finish. From custom-coating the Sub-Zero refrigerator handles and linear pendant light to match the electrical wall sockets, Newform Libera taps, and dark wall sconces.

The Eveneer dark timber panelling creates bold highlights in this luxury contemporary kitchen. The kitchen’s drawers and cupboards all feature a handleless design with a touch-to-open mechanism that blends unobtrusively with the rest of the kitchen. Dan Kitchens Joiners custom made a timber microwave frame to integrate the appliance into the design cleanly.

The Millers Point project is a contemporary gem, a high-class urban oasis for the homeowners and an impressive centrepiece for guests, sure to be loved for many years to come.

A very monochrome aesthetic. Balancing the busy stone with softer textures in the flooring, timber veneer and white polyurethane was key.
