Key fabrication challenges included carefully “smoking” oak timber veneer used in joinery throughout the house so that it matched solid oak floorboards specially imported from France and handling and installing a substantial stainless steel structure surrounding the cooktop area in the kitchen.
The result is a restrained interior in which the custom joinery supports the architecture without competing with it.

The completed joinery works as an integral part of the architecture rather than a series of separate furniture elements. Smoked oak veneer, stainless steel and finely resolved cabinetry are carried through the residence with a consistent level of detailing, allowing the joinery to support the complex geometry and material palette of the three-level home.
