Nestled on the shores of Pittwater, this architecturally designed home was in need of a update. The client’s came to Dan Kitchens with a desire to add a bar area, move the kitchen out into an adjoining space and build a scullery in the old kitchen area. The project was made all the more challenging by the necessity to conform to the home’s original colour scheme which features plenty of honey coloured timber, warm coloured tiles and white walls. Furthermore to the brief given to Dan Kitchens was the vision to turn this home into an entertainers delight, with a more open plan feel and a large island that would serve as a focal point within the space. After a thorough design process with the clients involved at every stage, the end result is what you see presented here.
Light colours and warm timbers feature throughout the kitchen and scullery, illuminating the space and fulfilling the requirement for consistency with the home. A 4m island in engineered calacatta sits prominently in an open room and is made all the more dramatic with angled overhangs at either end. A small, but well appointed scullery with stainless steel benchtop, welded-in sink, dishwasher, refrigerator and numerous storage options completes the kitchen area and stands as a practical space for preparing food while entertaining. At the other end of the open plan room sits a well appointed and sophisticated bar area which matches the style of the kitchen.
For over 40 years, the Dan Kitchens luxury kitchen showroom has brought Scandinavia’s best designs to life. Sydney’s most refined custom kitchens and sophisticated joinery are custom made in the adjoining production complex.
