The clients returned to Dan Kitchens to modernise the kitchen in their long-held Mosman family home. The existing kitchen, also built by Dan Kitchens in the early 2000s, remained serviceable but no longer provided the space, light or storage the family wanted. The renovation brief called for a larger kitchen connected to a contemporary extension and a walk-through pantry.
The revised layout introduced a generous island, fridge niche and defined cooking and cleaning zones along the rear wall. American oak crown-cut joinery, dark satin polyurethane, a tiled feature wall and Rugged Concrete Caesarstone benchtops give the new kitchen a warmer, more contemporary material palette.
The design was signed off in 2017, but construction was delayed while the extension received council approval. Building work commenced in 2020, after which Dan Kitchens check-measured the completed structure and refined the production drawings before installation. The kitchen was completed in 2020.

The completed renovation gives the family a substantially larger and brighter kitchen, with the new extension providing room for a generous island, defined cooking and cleaning zones and a walk-through pantry. Timber, dark cabinetry and textured finishes add warmth while the expanded glazing strengthens the connection with the rest of the home.
