The homeowners of this beautifully renovated Edgecliff terrace recently moved into their new residence, a striking home that had undergone an extensive architectural transformation just a few years prior. While much of the house met their expectations, the kitchen fell short—both in terms of functionality and the level of craftsmanship they desired. The existing space did not align with their lifestyle or the design language of their home, prompting them to seek a solution that would seamlessly integrate with the refined aesthetics of their living space.

Having been recommended by friends who had previously entrusted their own kitchen renovations to Dan Kitchens, the homeowners approached us with a clear vision: a kitchen that would not only complement the architectural essence of their home but also provide an elevated level of quality and performance. Curved and fluted ends to the island.

Rather than undertaking a complete overhaul, we worked within the existing kitchen footprint, refining the layout to improve efficiency and enhance the overall user experience. Our design process was deeply influenced by the architectural elements of the home, ensuring that the kitchen felt like a natural extension of its surroundings.

Key inspirations included: –

The interplay of large rounded features and voids, which informed the soft curves and sculptural elements in the kitchen.
The use of simple, straight solid forms, maintaining a balance between minimalism and functionality.
A neutral colour palette, carefully selected to echo the exposed concrete and crisp white surfaces found throughout the home.
The vertical steel cladding on the building’s exterior, which inspired subtle textural details within the kitchen.

Beyond standard cabinetry and layout modifications, we crafted several highly customised elements in the Dan Kitchens workshop, ensuring a level of detail and precision that mass-produced solutions could not achieve.

Curved fluted ends on the island, lending a sculptural and elegant form to the centrepiece of the kitchen.
Fluted doors, adding texture and depth while maintaining a refined aesthetic.
A custom-designed rangehood box, seamlessly integrated into the kitchen for both function and visual cohesion.

Every component was meticulously installed by Dan Kitchens’ own dedicated installation team, ensuring a flawless execution from concept to completion.
