Manly Kitchen

In their quest to breathe new life into their newly purchased Manly home, the homeowners embarked on a kitchen renovation journey that epitomizes modern elegance and functionality. With one of the homeowners being an interior designer, they played a pivotal role in selecting the color scheme and materials, drawing inspiration from the quintessential Australian Paperbark tree visible down the hallway. To bring their vision to life, they enlisted the expertise of Vagn Madsen, a renowned designer at Dan Kitchens, to handle the design and detailing.
The transformation began with the homeowners commissioning Dan Kitchens to design the kitchen through their Design Service. Recognising the impeccable design sensibilities and craftsmanship of Dan Kitchens, they subsequently appointed the company to manufacture, coordinate, and install their kitchen renovation project, ensuring a seamless realisation of their dream space.
The kitchen’s centerpiece is a stunning 3-meter island, clad in natural stone, which serves as both a visual anchor and a practical workspace and social hub. The luxurious Arabescato Vagli stone splashback and benchtops add a layer of opulence, with their intricate veining reminiscent of delicate brush strokes on canvas.
Generous storage solutions are seamlessly integrated into the design, featuring floor-to-ceiling cabinetry that ensures every inch of space is utilized efficiently. The cabinets boast a narrow shaker door profile, lending a subtle nod to classic design while maintaining a contemporary aesthetic.
Aged brass handles and knobs, sourced from two different manufacturers and custom finished for a cohesive look, provide a touch of vintage charm. These fixtures complement the natural stone and cabinetry, showcasing the meticulous attention to detail in Vagn Madsen’s design and the homeowner’s material selections.
Bathed in natural light from expansive glass doors, this kitchen strikes a perfect balance between style and functionality. It stands as a testament to the collaboration between the homeowners and Dan Kitchens, where the elegance of nature meets the precision of modern design, resulting in a truly bougie kitchen in every sense.
