Located in the heart of the home, no two Dan Kitchens are the same.
We work with our clients every step of the way to craft luxury kitchen projects that are an expression of your lifestyle. As in all our projects, we are guided by our core values: uncompromising quality, a commitment to classic, timeless aesthetics, and Danish designs principles that seek to enhance the way we live.
From your first architecturally accurate plans and images, to consultations with our interior designer, the selection of colours, and inspections of stone and raw timber, Dan Kitchens will guide you every step of the way.
Our installers are the true ambassadors of Dan Kitchens – building, problem solving, and applying the finishing touches to your dream kitchen.
Many of our team have been with us for over 20 years, and they are experts in their field. They will be present throughout the installation, ensuring everything goes smoothly and according to your design.
Dan Kitchens was founded in Sydney by Danish cabinet maker Vagn Madsen in 1984. Still director to this day, Madsen, with the help of the rest of the Dan Kitchens team, has crafted Danish-inspired interiors for over 40 years. Danish design is all about simplicity, minimalism, clean lines, and uncompromising functionality. Each space we craft is a balance of beauty and utility, where every detail is intentional, and materials are selected to complement both the design and the lifestyle it serves.
To this day the Dan Kitchens logo proudly flies the Danish flag in acknowledgement of our roots, and of the ethos at the heart of our designs.
Led by our designers, prospective clients benefit from a team of experts collaborating on your project from the get-go. Product designers, interior designers, cabinet makers and 3D artists make up this design team. We approach your project thoroughly and holistically, and when the design team is finished, you can be assured the proposed design not only looks beautiful but is well thought through.
Once the team has finished working on your custom joinery design, your Dan Kitchens designer will organise a presentation with you at our showroom. Together with old school hand-drawn plans and elevations, your designer will also present you with material and hardware samples, as well as detailed, transparent costings and options down to the component level. For larger, custom joinery designs, photo realistic renderings may also be provided.
Once you’re happy with the proposed design and costings, we’ll go over the paperwork thoroughly, and you sign a contract for Dan Kitchens to manufacture and install your custom joinery. We also go over any insurances required as part of the Home Building Compensation Fund and the schedule of payments.
At Dan Kitchens, we scan and trace plans in a 3D modelling program, building the kitchen with appliances and room features. Then, we add materials, colours, lighting, and props to create renders. This process takes about 2 days and may involve obtaining accurate 3D models.
Our production manager arranges to go to your home and measure the project space. They also take photographs and make detailed notes of anything else that may be required to ensure a smooth installation process.
For most homeowners, this is the stage where you see the most activity. Led by our inhouse installation team, your existing joinery is removed (if required), the space is prepared, and the installers begin building your custom joinery from the ground up. Various specialised tradespeople will come and go (electricians, plumbers, stone masons, etc) but you can be assured that the installation team will be overseeing all work carried out. Once complete, the installation team will run you through the various aspects of your custom joinery, as well as care and maintenance.
Our service doesn’t end when we’ve completed your joinery project. We follow up to see how you are going with your new joinery/cabinetry, and if there is anything amiss, we find a solution. If a part fails, even years down the line, we will do our utmost to help. Our many happy clients will attest to this.

We would highly recommend Dan Kitchens. We found Vagn and the team to be very professional, they were meticulous in attention to detail from measure to final install.
They were very organised and kept to the schedule, any issue that arose throughout the process was dealt with immediately and with excellent communication.
Vagn and his team made the whole process smooth from beginning to end with a great result.
It’s a joy to spend time in the kitchen that Dan Kitchens designed for us.
Everything is just so incredibly well thought through. The attention to detail is phenomenal – and we noticed this from our first meeting with Dan Kitchens. The soft glide of the drawers, the logic of what is located where, how all our spices fitted perfectly in the custom spice racks. I find myself wiping everything down all the time because I want to keep it as pristine as possible!
If you want a true craftsmen and master of their trade, you need look no further than Dan Kitchens. We couldn’t recommend them highly enough.
